When I get the chance, I'll make an effort to look into "Taiyoukai". If you've seen some of my cheesy strips here you know how I (loving) mock the Kag/Sess shippings. XD

I don't quite remember Sessh wanting to kill his father in the movie, though, especially considering he addressed the then-Western Lord with such (rare) respect ("chichi-ue" = lit. "my father above me"). I guess you could interpret his raised claws as an act of defiance, but in the end he never went through with it.

that sounds good. It's pretty fun to read, if you can ignore the fact that it's Sesshy & Kagome. haha, I'll bet you'd have fun with it. XD I think it's so fun to read your teasing OOC stuff. XD I don't think I've met anyone who preferred to stay true to the original show as much as I do. I admire that! I really do. ^v^

Hmmm... I thought I remembered him saying something about it when he was younger standing behind his father, but considering it's been forever since I watched it, I wouldn't be surprised I'm wrong. XD Maybe I took his saying he wanted to defeat him as that, I dunno. CX Anywho, Just gotta love Sesshy & Inu No Taisho. Totally awesome!!

I like staying close to original simply to have the reader go, "Man, why wasn't that in the real story!"

I've written only a couple of Inu no Taisho stories and "Vacancy" is my roughest interpretation of the relationship.

& I read a couple of your Inu no Taisho fics, they were very good! I'll have to read more. yes, that's kind of how I picture their relationship too. It's too bad they don't elaborate on it more in the series. It's just "the great dog demon" this, or "great dog demon" that. CX

You ask me, I think Inu no Taisho was probably a quick-tempered but otherwise jocular guy (gotta have a weird sense of humor with the way he worked his will -- and also gifted with wisdom that's borderline clairvoyant). He might not have been around much (what with all his great "conquests"), but he may very well have been the only person who gave Sesshomaru any real love (our dog lord's mother seems a tad too indifferent), which is why it's a regular tear-jerker to see their relationship strained in the Dog General's final moments. However, to me anyway, it's that knowledge of having experienced paternal love that allows Sesshomaru to make the first steps of empathy with regards to Rin and ultimately other living beings.

But yes,like so many others, I wish Takahashi would elaborate on this nearly non-appearing character who seems to control his sons' fates from beyond the grave. It's like something out of freakin' "Waiting for Godot"!

oh beautiful, Love the way you described their relationship! I couldn't agree more. I really need to watch the 3rd movie again for Inu no Taisho's sake. That was one thing I loved about "The once & future Taiyoukai" fanfic, she had two whole chapters with him in them, & the way she described him was just captivating. ^///^ Same way with yours too! I need to read more of your Inu papa fics. ^V^ That's so true, Takahashi didn't put enough of him in there. Does he even appear in the manga? I know the movies were just a spin off the series, so if it weren't for them, we wouldn't even see him. 0.o
