Hey guys! Long time no see huh? Wow it’s been nostalgic browsing through my old fanart and reading your sweet comments. It seriously feels like a lifetime ago. I’ve missed you!

As you’ve probably guessed, I don’t draw fanart anymore. I guess you could say I moved on from it after things in my real life changed (much of it for the better. Yay!). I mostly draw original art for my new business (livin’ the dream!). However, all my time posting on Deviant Art and sharing with you is still near and dear to my heart. It means so much to have your love and support for all these years! It helped me through a lot of challenging times and I’ll forever thank you for it.

On that note, as I was browsing through my doujinshis (comics) I remembered that I never got the rest of ”Brotherly Battle of Ball” posted. How lame is that? I decided the least I could do for you is to post the remaining pages in sketch form so you can see how the story ends. So here is a link to ”Brotherly Battle of Ball” so you can read the whole thing!

As for what I’ve been up to the past few years, I got married, went to college, got a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music, released a couple of albums, had a baby girl, and recently released my first children’s book Called “Find Your Brave” . I’ve been busy!

I’m so happy with how my book turned out. It’s actually helped some kids and special needs teenagers face their fears (especially when it’s coupled with the plushie I made for it), which has been so inspiring. I’m hoping to use my book, illustrations, original songs, and other talents to continue helping others struggling with fear and anxiety. I had so many wonderful people reach out to me when I needed help to get me to where I am now. I hope I can pay it forward.

You can check out my book on Amazon Here!

By the way, after I finished my book I got the coolest opportunity. I was graduating from college at the time, and was invited to perform my original song “My Brave” at Convocation (graduation). Since my song had actually inspired the concept for the book and I had the illustrations handy, I asked if I could animate the illustrations to my song to play in a video behind me. They gave me permission! The video below is the final version that I sang to. The eruption of applause actually startled me it was so loud. I hadn’t expected that!

BTW, the animation is actually showing my real life education story in a nutshell (I was pulled out of school after 5th Grade and left to teach myself). Kinda cool that I made it to college despite that. I’m so grateful. That’s why art (and posting it here) meant so much to me! It was one of the few places I could socialize really.

Anyways, thanks for reading my update! I don’t know if I’ll get back here on Deviant Art to submit art again, but I will come back occasionally to read any new comments And to say hi. Thanks again for all the support! If you want to follow and stay in touch with me outside of dA, you can follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter at @FoundMyBrave .

You can also checkout my website at www.foundmybrave.com. I’m still getting used to promoting my new business (still “Finding My Brave” on that one Lol) but here’s hoping I get the hang of it soon.

Again, thanks for all the support! Best of luck with all the things going on in your life. And please enjoy the new pages to Brotherly Battle of Ball! I’m excited to hear what you think of the ending. Lol It always was one of my favorite fan comics (although One Step Ahead and Cold were high up there too. And the Aftermath series. . . Dang it, they were all fun. Lol)

Anywho, take care! Much love and luck with 2023. It’s going to be a great year!

And boy am I glad. lol  I really do enjoy school (especially since the majority of my classes are all subjects I am interested in), but after four months of constant stress it's nice to get it over with.  I have to say though I am super super excited about my final project that I did for two of my classes, and I had to share!  I finally fulfilled my lifelong dream of creating my first ever animated feature (well. . . not completely animated, but it is a story, with the main key frames and music/sound effects  ^v^).  I have dreamed of this moment for years.  I still can't believe I've finally done it.

As usual, I came up with an insane idea to pitch to my professors as the final project for both my Pro Tools recording class, and my Drawing 1 class. I told them I wanted to do a five minute animated short about a cute little girl who builds a snowman..  Yes, I was that insane, and don't worry. I was questioning my sanity the rest of the semester as I slaved over this massive project and tried to keep up with the rest of my classes. CX  Not only was I doing the pre-production and official artwork (story boarding, background layouts, character design and painting every frame and background in watercolor) for my art class, I was ALSO writing, arranging, and recording the entire soundtrack for said feature in my music class. It was absolute chaos. lol

It turned out great though!  Granted, it isn't quite finished even though the semester's over (the music was finished, it was just missing the assembly of a few shots at the end), but it actually turned out for the best because my art class really enjoyed seeing a sample of the animatic underneath the finished product to appreciate the sheer size and time that went into this project.  It was pretty funny when I told them I had also created the music score that they were hearing with the artwork.  They were almost spouting profanities.  It was awesome. lol

I know it's kinda random for me to disappear for months and come back out of the blue blabbering about a project you haven't even heard about 'til now, but I was just too excited and had to gush somewhere. lol And I promise you will get to see it!  Granted, I don't think it should be posted until the Christmas season, just because it is kind of a Christmas themed story which would be best premiered around, well. . . Christmas. ^^;  But I guarantee it will be posted then.  After all, it's practically finished now.  All I have left after that is posting it. :)

HOWEVER, that being said, you have no idea how much this project has opened up my creative drive and desire to make more shorts like this.  I am on fire, so hopefully if my summer doesn't get too busy and I get a couple more delayed projects off my plate, I am going to be creating more adorable shorts like this one and posting them up for you to enjoy on my youtube channel (that includes finishing that InuYasha Music Video that is long overdue to be finished lol).  Maybe dA will actually accept my application to show it here as a film this time (I attempted to apply once before, never heard back. . . >_>')

Anywho, I'm sorry for the very lengthy journal and the terribly early teaser for what's to come around Christmas, but like I said, there is hopefully more to come between now and when it debuts. I hope it will be worth the wait.  I know I had a lot of fun creating it. I'll keep you posted with more projects and goings on as they come.  Oh, as well as post some of the artwork I created over the semester that I haven't had time to photograph and post. Good grief, the whole semester was such a blur I don't remember any of the other projects I did that weren't related to the animated monstrosity. . . lol

Thanks as always for all your support of my artwork and all the faves/comments!  You guys are so awesome.

 Ani

      P.S.  I haven't forgotten the Brotherly Battle of Ball comic that isn't finished!  I have a terrible predicament that is program related keeping me from finishing it.  My old computer which crashed a year or so ago had the program I used to create it, and I cannot for the life of me find the disc with the serial number to reopen in from the salvaged hard drive.  On top of that, there is no place where you can buy a serial number to open it, and I don't have the money to buy a new copy. ;_;  I'll find that disc eventually though.  I am currently turning my house upside down in preparation to create more art/animation, so it will be found. . . I hope. ^^;

Hey guys!  I've finally got my computer working!  I so wanted to start posting more installments for Brotherly Battle of Ball these last couple weeks, but I guess computer repairs come first. CX  I'll try to get something posted within the next week. In the meantime though, I would love your help with a little something.  I've just entered my music video "My Favorite Song" in a music contest hosted by Alex Boye (the artist behind this incredible version of "Let It Go").  The winner gets to be in his latest music video for his new song called "Lemonade", as well as a manager contract, free time in a professional studio, $20,000 in prizes, and all kinds of jazzy stuff. :3

Aaanyway, the more social votes, shares, likes etc. your entry has, the better chances you have of being considered for as a finalist.  I've probably got a long shot, but hey, it's worth a try!  If you'd like to help, all you have to do is share, like, or tweet my video at gigg.com.  You can also vote for it once a day on this website. :3

Thanks so much for your help you guys!  It really means a lot.  And I PROMISE I will get some new art and fun stuff posted for you!  I'm determined to finish Brotherly Battle of Ball, as well as the "I Will Not Bow" music vid.
